A story based on school life in the 30's. A school permeated at all levels by homosexuality. To keep such affairs accepted there are two rules that needs to be provided by the participants:
Guy Bennet is at the end of his second last year at one of England's leading boarding schools. Guy's future looks bright, he will become a senior prefect and he is convinced he one dag will become ambassador in Paris. The future takes a turn when Guy realize his homosexuality is not a passing phase, and he is unwilling to "play the game". He begins to live dangerously, and his refusal to play the game according to the rules ends in public humiliation. Bennet fights back and turns eastwards to communist Russia. Another Country has also been filmed with Rubert Everett as Bennet,
and Colin Finch as his best friend, Tommy Judd.
